A promise unfolding
Joseph traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem with Mary, who was expecting Jesus. Their ordinary journey became part of God’s extraordinary plan—fulfilling the promise that the Savior would come from Bethlehem.

The Savior arrives
With no room available for them, Mary laid the newborn Jesus in a manger. The King of Kings entered the world in humility—not in a palace, but in a simple place where every heart is invited to draw near.
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger.”

Good news of great joy
Angels announced Jesus’ birth first to shepherds keeping watch at night. The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem, found the child just as they had been told, and shared the wonderful news with others.

A King worthy of worship
Wise men traveled from the East to honor Jesus. They brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh—treasures suited for a king and signs that this child’s life would change the world.
“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him.”

Light in the darkness
God placed a star in the sky to guide the wise men to Jesus. Its light still reminds us that Christmas points beyond itself—to Christ, the true Light who came into the world.
